1. Overview

Configure logging in your Blue Coat ProxySG appliance in the Key-Value format.

Info: Blue Coat ProxySG is now sold under Broadcom as "Symantec Edge Secure Web Gateway (Edge SWG)." The console and steps below are unchanged. Separately, the SGOS 7.3 software version is scheduled to reach end-of-life after December 31, 2026, with Broadcom recommending an upgrade to SGOS 7.4 LTR — worth checking if your appliance is still on 7.3.

Work with your Blue Coat ProxySG administrator to create a custom format for this type of data collection. Follow the steps below:

2. Configure the Custom Format

  1. Log in to the Blue Coat Management Console.
  2. Select Configuration > Access Logging > Formats.
  3. Select New.
  4. Type a format name for the custom format and paste the following configs:

  1. Select TCP transport option and save your format.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Specify the IP address for the Adapter/PICO that is receiving the logs.
  4. Click Apply.
